Support & Information

CDP is continuously developing the ways in which it can help its clients and other people affected by drug abuse.

CDP Services

We provide direct help to clients in our own premises, through our Open Access and Aftercare services.  We also have a specialist team within Hull’s Drug Interventions Programme (DIP).

These services from fixed locations are complemented by a range of Outreach services.  These operate in the street, in people’s homes and premises run by a variety of voluntary and public organisations.

Together these are the CDP Services and you can get more information about each one by clicking on the entry in the menu on the left.

Details about these services can be found in their leaflets, which can be obtained from the main CDP office or downloaded from this web site free of charge.  Just click on the word Publications in the green navigation bar above.

On-line Information

CDP has recognised the need for more immediate help, though, and we provide that through this site.  There is help for drug users, information for the people that are important to them, their families and friends, and details about services for children.  There is also medical information and time critical alerts about such things as bad batches of drugs.

All of this information is available by clicking on the On-line Information entry in the menu on the left.

Web Based Information

There are a vast number of sources of information about the abuse of drugs, alcohol and other substances.  Some are strategic, giving government policy, for example, while others focus on a single issue.  Some are encyclopaedias of information about every kind of substance and their effects; yet others deal with just one drug.  There are sources aimed at adults and others for children and young people.  There are national organisations and those in just one location.  There are statutory, voluntary and self-help groups.

Most of the organisations that have created this information make it available through web sites, like this one, but locating them and identifying the right one to meet your requirements is a daunting task.  CDP have made this task a lot easier.

In our Web Based Information, we have organised links to scores of web sites that could be of use to our clients and the people that care about them, and to other professionals.  They come from across the country, and some are even from overseas.  We have grouped them into seven sections to help you narrow your search and there is short summary of each site to assist you further.  All we ask is that you read our Legal Information before you start using the links.
