Support Group Meetings

CDP encourages any activity that helps users to stay clean or to reduce their dependency. In particular, self-help groups can be an excellent way for people to gain mutual support from others going through the same experience.

User Involvement Project

The Project provides independent support for drug and alcohol misuse by users and ex-users. It is managed by Hull DOC, a registered charity.

Meetings are held at several locations, including CDP’s premises in Wright Street. The groups are run by and for users and ex-users.

The Project offers:

  • Support and self help groups
  • Information, advice and advocacy
  • Peer support, harm reduction, social and educational activities
  • Advocacy service (supports and represents users who wish to complain about treatment)
  • Training (providing drug awareness from the drug user/ex-user perspective in a range of young people’s educational settings)
